The owners of the Castle Mona have granted access to the site to be used for parking while promenade work continues.
The Tevir Group, which bought the hotel in an auction last year for just over £1m, has confirmed it will allow residents to use part of the car park to the side of the building.
Part of the site has been made available to the Department of Infrastructure to enable the creation of a new temporary disc parking zone.
This, it is hoped, will ease pressure on businesses in the area.
Entry to the parking spaces will be via the top of Castle Drive with vehicles exiting onto Central Promenade.
While the parking has been opened up, the group continues its work to salvage the Castle Mona which fell into a poor state under its previous ownership by the Sefton Group.
A statement from Tevir said: ’Contractors employed by Tevir Group are currently undertaking work on the former hotel in order to alleviate the damage caused by significant water ingress over the past few years.
’While this remedial work is ongoing, planning continues in relation to the longer-term regeneration of the historic Castle Mona property.
