Tevir Group is pleased to be supporting Space4Action courses on behalf of The Keith Jones Foundation.
The Keith Jones Foundation recently made a significant donation to S4A, funding two of their initiatives detailed below, with the hope that they can offer well needed support and awareness to the island community that doesn’t currently exist.
Space4Action (S4A) is committed and dedicated to helping end domestic abuse. They want an Island community that will “Ask and Act” about domestic abuse and where victims know they are safe and supported; an Island where survivors feel heard. S4A believes that by equipping our community to have the confidence and understanding to ask and ask; the support offered will empower victims by demonstrating that they have choices - thereby increasing their Space for Action.

‘Own My Life’ Course – this 12-week course for women is the Island’s only recovery course for domestic abuse survivors. It is innovative, trauma-informed and grows self-efficacy, empowering women to know that they can regain control of their own lives, be confident decision makers and create a new future free from abuse. Without exception every woman who has completed the course on the Isle of Man so far has said that this course is “life-changing”. It is essential that women continue to be able to access this course free of charge due to the impacts of financial abuse and the financial challenges of setting up a new life and home, including several factors that are gender-specific such as the gender pay gap, likelihood of women being in part-time work and having the main child-care responsibility. KJF funding therefore is literally invaluable in helping change women’s lives.
Safe Space & Community Champion Initiative - The “Spaces 4Action” scheme will provide Domestic Abuse training and resources to local salons, gyms and other community spaces, creating safe, discreet venues where people experiencing domestic abuse can seek help, make a phone call, or just find someone to talk to. The campaign increases understanding and awareness of domestic abuse while giving victims new opportunities to ask for support. It equips people in our community with the knowledge and skills to foster safer communities and have conversations that count. A visit to the hairdressers or other small community venue may be the only opportunity people experiencing abuse get to have that conversation or make a call in a safe environment. The Spaces 4 Action scheme is about opening doors through which victims can take their first steps towards choice and freedom.
