The Arches Car Park, a 67-space multi-level car park on South Quay, Douglas, has benefited from a significant refurbishment by Tevir Group for tenants of ‘55 Athol Street’, its ‘Grade A’ office development in central Douglas.
‘55 Athol Street represents a significant investment by Tevir Group into Douglas’s built infrastructure, so we wanted to ensure that those staff of our tenants who need to travel into work by car had easy access to parking within a short walk of the property.
‘We are also keen to support tenants’ staff in the uptake of low carbon transport. With an increase in the use of electric vehicles anticipated in the next few years, 6 Electric Vehicle (‘EV’) charging points have been installed in the bottom level of the car park. We believe that this represents the largest concentration of EV charging points within a privately owned car park in the Isle of Man to date.’
The refurbishment of The Arches Car Park and the accompanying development at 55 Athol Street has been welcomed by the Leader of Douglas Council, Councillor David Christian MBE.
Councillor Christian commented:
‘I very much welcome the investment by Tevir Group into both 55 Athol Street and The Arches Car Park. This represents a strong alignment with several of the Council’s core objectives to improve Douglas, as laid out in our Corporate Plan. Namely, to regenerate the built environment, to make Douglas a desirable place to work and to encourage the use of sustainable transport.’
